Thank you for using the Stamp Editor application version 3.0 download. This program can be used to install the Stamp Editor application version 3.0 on a PC running Windows^® 95/98/Me

After downloading this program, follow the procedure below to install Stamp Editor version 3.0. 1.

Run the downloaded program. The program is a self-expanding compression file. The installation program will then run automatically, and installation will begin. Follow the directions on the following screen and install the program.

In order to start up the installer, approximately 30 MB of free space is needed on the drive containing the downloaded program.

Administrator privileges are required in order to install the application on a computer running Windows^® 95/98/Me

The procedure for installing the printer driver differs when you are using a serial port or parallel port connection. Please follow the instructions for the type of port connection that you are using.

For serial port connections:

1. Connect the SC-2000 to the computer and turn both machines on.

2. Start up "Drvsetup.exe" in the decompressed folder.

3. The opening page will appear. Make sure that "Install" is selected and then click the Next button.

4. In the next dialog box, select "Serial port (COM)" and click the Next button.

5. On Windows NT 4.0, a dedicated port is necessary. If the Next button in the dialog box that is displayed can be clicked, skip to step 7. If the Next button is gray and cannot be clicked, a dedicated port has not yet been added. Therefore, the Add button must be clicked.

6. A dialog box that allows you to select the connection port will appear. Select "PTCOM1:" if the SC-2000 is connected to the COM1 port or "PTCOM2:" if the SC-2000 is connected to the COM2 port. Then click the OK button. After the dialog box that allows you to add a port is displayed again, click the Next button.

7. The next dialog box allows you to select the port where the printer is connected. Select "PTCOM1:" if the SC-2000 is connected to the COM1 port or "PTCOM2:" if the SC-2000 is connected to the COM2 port and then click the Next button. 8. In the next dialog box, check that the installation will be carried out correctly, and then click the Next button.

9. After the printer driver is installed, the "Start up Baud Rate Wizard" check box can be selected. (It is normally not necessary to select this check box.) Then, click the Next button. If the "Start up Baud Rate Wizard" check box is selected:

A. In the first dialog box of the Baud Rate Wizard, which allows you to set the baud rate, you are asked to select the port where the SC-2000 is connected. Select the port selected in step 5, and then click the Next button.

B. In the next dialog box that is displayed, select the desired baud rate, and then click the Next button.

C. In the next dialog box that is displayed, check that the settings are correct, and then click the Next button.

D. Set the SC-2000 main unit to the same baud rate that was specified in step B. A transmission to confirm your settings will be sent between the SC-2000 and the computer. Click the Next button in the dialog box that appears.

See the manual that came with the SC-2000 for details on setting the baud rate for the SC-2000 main unit.

E. Click the Finish button to quit the Baud Rate Wizard.

10. After the entire installation is complete, click the Finish button in the dialog box that is displayed.

Restart your computer before using the software.

For parallel port connections:

1. Connect the SC-2000 to the computer and turn both machines on.

2. Start up "Drvsetup.exe" in the decompressed folder.

3. The opening page will appear. Make sure that "Install" is selected and then click the Next button.

4. In the next dialog box, select "Parallel port (LPT)" and click the Next button.

5. The next dialog box allows you to select the port where the printer is connected. Select "LPT1:" if the SC-2000 is connected to the LPT1 port or "LPT2" if the SC-2000 is connected to the LPT2 port, and then click the Next button.

6. In the next dialog box, check that the installation will be carried out correctly, and then click the Next button.

7. The printer driver will now be installed. When installation has finished, a warning message regarding the use of a serial port will appear. Click the OK button to continue.

8. Click the finish button in the dialog box that is displayed and restart the computer
