PTouch Software Installation procedure:  (Full version)

Use this program to install P-touch Editor Version 4.0 on computers running Microsoft^® Windows^® 95, 98, 98SE, Me, NT 4.0, 2000 or XP.
After downloading this program and note where it is saved.  Follow the procedure below to install P-touch Editor Version 4.0.

Precautions

THIS IS THE FULL VERSION OF THIS PROGRAM... 25MB....  Yoou should have a high speed connection to download this file.  This is very large and will take a long time using a dialup connection.

1. If a previous version of P-touch Editor Version 4.0 is already installed, use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove the application.

2. Start up "pew40019us_sc.exe", and then follow the instructions that appear to install the application.

In order to run the installer, Microsoft^® Internet Explorer Version 3.02 or later is required.

In order to install P-touch Editor onto Microsoft^® Windows^® NT 4.0, 2000 or XP, you must log on with Administrator privileges.

In order to run P-touch Editor Version 4.0 on Microsoft^® Windows^® NT 4.0, Service Pack 6 or later and Internet Explorer Version 5.5 or later are required.

Before using P-touch Editor, refer to the README.TXT file in the folder installed with the application.

We recommend upgrading the corresponding printer driver to the newest version.

After P-touch Editor is installed, be sure to restart the computer when instructed.  In addition, after the computer is restarted, be sure to log on with the same user name that was used when the application was installed.

Installing the printer driver 

The procedure for installing the printer driver differs when you are using a serial port or parallel port connection. Please follow the instructions for the type of port connection that you are using.

For serial port connections

*************************************************************

1. Connect the STAMPCREATOR to the computer and turn both machines on.
   2. Start up [D_SETUP.EXE] in the decompressed folder.
   3. The opening page will appear. Make sure that [Install] is selected and then click the Next button.
   4. In the next dialog box, select [Serial port (COM)] and click the Next button.
   5. (The following steps 5 and 6 are for Windows NT 4.0 (Windows 2000 / XP) users only. Windows 98 (Window Me) users should skip to step 7.)  On Windows NT 4.0, a dedicated port is necessary. If the Next button in the dialog box that is displayed can be clicked, skip to step 7. If the Next button is gray and cannot be clicked, a dedicated port has not yet been added. Therefore,  the Add button must be clicked.
   6. A dialog box that allows you to select the connection port will appear. Select [PTCOM1:] if the STAMPCREATOR is connected to the COM1 port or [PTCOM2:] if the STAMPCREATOR is connected to the COM2 port.  Then click the OK button. After the dialog box that allows you to add a port is displayed again, click the Next button.
   7. The next dialog box allows you to select the port where the printer is connected. Select [PTCOM1:] if the STAMPCREATOR is connected to the COM1 port or [PTCOM2:] if the STAMPCREATOR is connected to the COM2 port and then click the Next button.
   8. In the next dialog box, check that the installation will be carried out correctly, and then click the Next button.
   9. After the printer driver is installed, the [Start up Baud Rate Wizard] check box can be selected. (It is normally not necessary to select this check box.) Then, click the Next button. 

If the [Start up Baud Rate Wizard] check box is selected:
A. In the first dialog box of the Baud Rate Wizard, which allows you to set the baud rate, you are asked to select the port where the STAMPCREATOR is connected. Select the port selected in step 5, and then click the Next button.
B. In the next dialog box that is displayed, select the desired baud rate, and then click the Next button.
C. In the next dialog box that is displayed, check that the settings are correct, and then click the Next button.
D. Set the STAMPCREATOR main unit to the same baud rate that was specified in step B. A transmission to confirm your settings will be sent between the STAMPCREATOR and the computer.  Click the Next button in the dialog box that appears.  See the manual that came with the STAMPCREATOR for details on setting the baud rate for the STAMPCREATOR main unit.
E. Click the Finish button to quit the Baud Rate Wizard.
10. After the entire installation is complete, click the Finish button in the dialog box that is displayed. Restart your computer before using the software.

Stampcreator Express Installation Instructions   (Full version)

Use this program to install Stampcreator Express Version 4.0 on computers
running Microsoft^® Windows^®95, 98, 98SE, Me, NT 4.0, 2000 or XP.

After downloading this program, follow the procedure below to install Stampcreator Express Version 4.0.

1. If a previous version of Stampcreator Express Version 4.0 is already installed, use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove the application.

2. Start up "pew40002us.exe", and then follow the instructions that appear to install the application.
